Why is it so hard to find a job ???

I must have gone on 10 interviews in the last 3 months and none of the jobs were offered to me. The employers look at me and first thing they sometimes ask is How old are u ? But they always want to talk to me after they see my resume. They tell me I am very intelligent but....young. How can a young person like you know this? How did you get so much experience being so young? Now, I am not that young... I am in my very late 20s , and I am pursuing clinical research. So far no luck.... I just want others opinions if what is happening to me is happening elsewhere.... On the margin, its flattering to be told that you look younger than your age but on the other hand its like someone telling you, you are too pretty to be this smart, etc.

Why is it so hard to find a job ???
You are never too young, but this is a ratrace. I doubt it has anything to do with your looks, but your experience. Most 29 year olds aren;t doing clinical research. Sometimes they want you to "look the part" , if you needed major surgery and were introduced to a 29 year old who looked 18, you'd be nervous regardless of their actual skill. Don't sweat it and keep looking.
Reply:Welcome to the RATRACE!!!

U can stay there if u want or do something about it.

Xtra! Xtra! Read all about it!! Go get a copy n it will change how u look about the RATRACE!!
Reply:That is very stupid my mother was a curator of a Museum at the age of 23 and later An Ambassador at 29 you are never too young. This might just be because of your age and that you are a woman. Which is Horrible for them to not give you a job. I hope you find one I am just starting in Pharmacy I am thinking when I am done I will try research hope the jobs pay well in the research field.
Reply:maybe u dont dress right and u might have an attuide
Reply:maybe you have an attitude? maybe your a threat to the people interviewing you?

maybe you dont have any track record for the positions your applying for? Its easier to find a job when you have a job, even part time.
Reply:I think a lot of it is appearance. The way you feel when you first walk into an interview. Be sharp, hold your head up high, be confident, and present yourself very well. First impression is the best. Carry yourself in a way that nothing will get in your way.
