Is a double Major in Psychology and Spanish a good idea?

I really enjoy psychology and spanish. I could definitely see myself as doing something psychology related when im older and i want to know spanish as well. What jobs would be available if i choose to major in these? What would the salary be around? I kind of want to go further with my education and either do clinical psychology or i really want to study the brain in a research area. What can i expect after college with these degrees under my belt? Thanks for all the answers! =)

In many places there is a high demand for people who can do therapy work in Spanish and that type of work would require a person to be highly fluent. I can't speak to what a private practice would look like, but in CA school districts are often looking for bilingual school psyches. Good luck to you with both subjects. Sounds like a great idea!
Reply:What you're planning sounds very reasonable and good! For a job in either clinical psychology or brain-research, you'll need to go to grad school, but a Psychology and Spanish double major's a great place to start undergrad. A Psychology background (and any kind of undergrad research experience you can get) will help get into grad school, and Spanish will help with that, too, and with getting a job later and with your own personal life! 1/3 of the U.S. now speaks Spanish, and knowing it will help you work with so many more people. Employers will like that you'll be able to speak to Spanish clients, and it'll be nice for you, too (I've already gotten to know tons of awesome people who only speak Spanish, and am really grateful for it! And I'm from a part of the country that's overwhelmingly Caucasian, not even a place like California where you'd think knowing another language would be particularly important.)
Reply:sure! then you'll be able to ask: "You want fries with that?" in two languages
